The Next Right Step
Rooted in Who You Are
There comes a point in many of our lives when we realize we've been living by someone else's script. We've followed the rules, earned the degrees, built the titles—but something inside still whispers, This isn't quite it.
When that moment arrives, it can feel overwhelming. How do you leave behind what's familiar? How do you move forward when the path isn't clear?
The answer, I've found, lies in one small, powerful question:
What is the next right step for me — right now?
My Own Winding Path
My journey has been anything but linear. I started in the corporate world, climbing ladders, collecting accolades, and doing what I thought was expected. On the outside, everything looked successful. Inside, something essential was missing.
That inner voice — the one that nudges you when you're still enough to listen — began to grow louder. I didn't have a complete plan, but I knew I needed to follow it. The first step was leaving my corporate job. And after much trial and error, I launched a tour company in Napa Valley. I loved creating meaningful experiences for people, but over time, I began to crave something more profound and more rooted in service.
Next, I enrolled in a community college program to pursue an Associate's degree in Human Services — despite already having an MBA. It didn't make sense on paper, but it made perfect sense to my soul.
Then came yoga. First, as a student. Then, as a teacher-in-training. Then, again and again, I continued to learn, study, and grow. Eventually, I trained as a Wayfinder Life Coach — a path that allowed me to integrate everything I'd learned into one offering: helping others find their own next right step.
From the outside, none of this looked traditional. But it was never about tradition. It was about truth.
Small Steps Make a True Path
There's power in releasing the need to have it all figured out. You don't need to map out your next five years. You don't need to know the destination. You only need to recognize the step that feels clear, kind, and aligned — today.
That step might be scheduling a quiet morning for yourself. It might be signing up for a class. It might be asking for help. The important part isn't how big the step is — it's how true it feels.
Soul Wisdom in Action: Autobiography of a Yogi
One of the books that deeply speaks to this kind of inner guidance is Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda. His life was shaped not by convention but by trust in something more profound. He didn't force the path — he followed it, one step at a time.
It's a beautiful reminder that our lives, too, can unfold in unexpected, meaningful ways when we walk in alignment with our inner knowing.
